Um, a legion of rabid screaming fanboys that utterly fucking lose their shit the second you dare to imagine any of their favs being the slightest bit gay. I can’t even imagine the shit storm that would ensue if you tried to talk about the idea of one of the Avengers being trans.
So basically the actual, serious answer to that question is “at least half the fandom says that”.
